Math Fluency

Students will take a math fluency test (timed test) once per week in the quarter.  For the first quarter, students will have 4 minutes and 45 seconds to complete the 75 addition problems.  Their top 3 scores for the quarter are what will go into their final grade.  However, each week, I will still upload their scores to Power School so that you can track their progress.

Pearson Realize

An excellent resource for you and your child is www.pearsonrealize.com.  This is a direct link to our series.  If your child forgets to bring their homework home, this is always a place you can get it.  You can also use this site to watch the visual learning bridge videos that explain the concept we learned for the day.  Your child will need their username and password which will be sent home at the beginning of the year.  Their username is 29LastnameFirstname and their password is their unique Peters Township identification number and bh at the end.  So for example, my username would be 29WillkommAmanda and my password would be 229_ _ _ 650bh.  Every child in 2nd grade has the 229 and 650 part, but the three numbers in the middle are different.

Xtra Math

Be sure to check out www.xtramath.org.  It is a great place to practice math computation facts.  It isn't any problem solving, or reading, just straight math facts.
